Pumpkin Payasam

A delicious recipe..


  • Pumpkin puree -1 cup
  • Roasted Vermicelli -1/3 cup
  • Milk -2 Cups
  • Sugar -1/3 cup
  • Cashew nuts - 8-10
  • Raisins -8-10
  • Makhaane - 8-10
  • Chironji - 1 tsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Clarified Butter (ghee)- 2-3 tbs
  • Almonds -6-7


Take a pan and add 1/2 tsp of ghee and roast the cashew, raisins, Chironji, almonds fir 2-3 minutes on low flame..take out and keep a side..

Now roast makhaane for 2 minutes then take out and keep a side...let Cool all the dry fruits and then roughly Crushed.....

Now add remaining ghee in that pan and add pumpkin puree.....stir well for 2 minutes

Cover the pan and cook for 8-10 minutes on low flame....

After 10 minutes add milk and stir continue for 2 minutes then add Vermicelli and stir again for 2 minutes....Now let it cook for 5 minutes on low flame....

After 5 minutes add sugar and mix well... again cook for 8-10 minutes on low flame...Now add crushed dry fruits & switch off the gas then add Cardamom powder.....

Pumpkin Payasam is ready to serve..... Garnish with chopped pistachios....Served hot... Enjoy the taste.
